Phnom Penh, Cambodia The Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) is advancing plans for a dynamic new campus that aims to harmonize modern educational infrastructure with smart technology, environmental sustainability, and deeply rooted Cambodian architectural identity.
Officially designated as RUPP Campus 3, the ambitious project is anchored by four guiding principles:
Smart: Integration of advanced IT and digital infrastructure.
Green: Eco-friendly designs emphasizing sustainability.
Traditional: Aesthetic elements reflecting Cambodia's rich cultural heritage.
Humanistic: A focus on human-centered learning and well-being.
The proposed development features a striking multi-story academic building integrated with heavily landscaped outdoor spaces. To minimize its environmental footprint, the architectural design actively incorporates natural ventilation, extensive greenery, and solar energy systems.
Academically, Campus 3 is engineered to support advanced research and innovation. It will serve as a hub for critical future-facing disciplines, including architecture and engineering, information and communication technology (ICT), green technology, environmental studies, and mechanical engineering.
By marrying modern infrastructure with traditional cultural motifs, the new campus represents a concerted effort to build a contemporary, world-class university environment while remaining firmly connected to local roots. Once completed, RUPP Campus 3 will significantly expand the university’s capacity to educate and inspire the next generation of Cambodian professionals.
